Scoping visits and training exercises implemented


 

A joint excursion with officials of ForstBW, the State Forest Enterprise of Baden-Wuerttemberg, was organized on 08.10.2014 to forests around the city of Todtmoos located in the Black Forest.  It was discussed on how to eventually transform currently existing training sites to full-fledged M-scopes for allowing more comprehensive silvicultural training events in the future.
A field trip was organized on 09-10.10.2014 to the Idarwald which is located in the Hunsrück low mountain range in the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany jointly with the silvicultural trainers of that state. Further a training event was organised with emphasis on identifying and describing tree microhabitats structures.
